About Business Mentality

Business Mentality started as a collaborative project between the London Development Centre and Open Mind Consultancy with funding by the London Development Agency (LDA) Opportunities Fund. The two organisations came together to deliver practical business focused services specifically to support small and medium sized organisations to manage stress in the workplace and to create and maintain a mentally healthy environment. Over the period April 2007 - March 2009, Business Mentality supported over 120 organisations from the private and voluntary sectors through workshops and consultancy. At the time, Business Mentality was the only dedicated support targeting the small business community.

The project benefitted from an expert advisory board comprising:

Aideen Silke, London development Agency; Alison Blackwood, London Voluntary Sector Council; Anna Loughlin, Londom Borough of Enfield; Ambrose Quashie, London Borough of Haringey; Bill Slade, London Borough of Haringey; Colin Mackay, Health & Safety Executive; Gary Ince, North London Business; Gulnar Hussain, London Development Agency; Jason Vosa-Baigrie, JobcentrePlus; Lynsey Groom, Federation of Small Business; Nicholas Garforth, City and Hackney Primary Care Trust; Richard Frost, WorkWays/ Mindful Employer; Sayeed Khan, EEF The Manufacturers' Organisation; Shahid Dadabhoy, Community GP; Sheila Laverick, JobcentrePlus; Tom Watson, London Borough of Hackney; Vicky Edmunds, Richmond Fellowship.

Business Mentality is now run by the directors of Open Mind Sue Temple and Mukesh Gohil and supported by a number of selected associates.
